Biography
Dave Eggers is an American writer and screenwriter. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1970, he first gained prominence with his 2000 memoir A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius.
Eggers co-wrote the screenplay for Where the Wild Things Are (2009) with director Spike Jonze. He also wrote the screenplay for Away We Go (2009) with his wife, writer Vendela Vida, and has adapted several of his novels for film, including A Hologram for the King (2016) and The Circle (2017).
He founded the literary journal Timothy McSweeney's Quarterly Concern and the publishing house McSweeney's.
