Biography
Dave Hackel is an American television producer and screenwriter. He grew up in Delaware, Ohio, and moved to Los Angeles in the 1970s, where he began working as a game show staffer before becoming a writer.
He started writing with partner Steve Hattman and contributed episodes to series including The Love Boat, Fish, Dear John and Wings. Hackel wrote one episode of Frasier and served as a creative consultant on the series. He created, wrote and executive produced the CBS sitcom Becker (1998–2004), which starred Ted Danson.
