Biography

David Alexander (23 December 1914 – 6 March 1983) was an American television director. Born in New York, he directed episodes of numerous popular 1960s series, including The Munsters (1964), Get Smart (1965), The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (1964), F Troop (1965) and Petticoat Junction (1963). He also directed two episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series in its third season: 'Plato's Stepchildren' (1968) and 'The Way to Eden' (1969).

Earlier in his career, Alexander directed on Broadway, including the 1951 production of The King of Friday's Men and the 1952 revival of the musical Pal Joey, which had the longest run of any musical revival on Broadway at the time.
