Biography
David Alvarez is a Canadian dancer and actor. Born on 11 May 1994 in Montreal, Quebec, he trained as a dancer with American Ballet Theatre.
He is best known as one of the original Billys in the Broadway production of Billy Elliot the Musical (2008–2010), for which he shared the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical in 2009. He later appeared as a swing in the 2014 Broadway revival of On the Town and served in the US Army before returning to performing.
Alvarez played Bernardo in Steven Spielberg's 2021 film West Side Story and Isaac English in the television series American Rust (2021–2024).
