Biography
David Carlyle is a Scottish actor. He is known for playing Gregory Finch in the 2021 Channel 4 series It's a Sin, a role that earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 2022 British Academy Television Awards, as well as a nomination for the BAFTA Scotland Audience Award.
Carlyle had a ten-year stage career prior to It's a Sin, with credits including productions at the Royal National Theatre, the Royal Lyceum Theatre and the National Theatre of Scotland. He has also appeared in the television series Bodyguard (2018), Lip Service (2012) and Dinosaur (2024).
In film, he played Chris Achenbach in the 2025 feature I Swear.
