Biography
David Cryan is an American writer. He wrote the episode 'Undercover Burns' for the thirty-second season of the animated series The Simpsons, first broadcast in 2020.
Cryan contacted showrunner Al Jean via Twitter and submitted sample scripts. Jean was sufficiently impressed to offer him a place on the writing staff, but visa difficulties meant Cryan, who lives in Ontario, Canada, could not accept. He was instead commissioned to write the episode as a freelancer. It was his first television credit.
Cryan has written several short films, including The Tupperware Party (2020) and The Most Viral Video of All Time (2024), and episodes of the series Business Inc (2021).
