Biography
David Dinerstein is an American film producer and former studio executive. He has worked in production, marketing and distribution on over 200 films, including titles such as Pulp Fiction and American Hustle. He served as a senior executive at Miramax, 20th Century Fox and Paramount Pictures, and was one of the architects of Fox Searchlight Pictures. He is a co-founder of Mass Distraction Media.
Dinerstein produced the documentary Summer of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) (2021), directed by Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson. The film won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature, as well as a Grammy Award for Best Music Film and other honours including a Producers Guild of America Award.
He has also served as executive producer on documentaries including Winter on Fire: Ukraine's Fight for Freedom (2015) and narrative features such as The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018) and A Private War (2018). Dinerstein studied mass communications at Boston University.
