Biography
David F. Sandberg is a Swedish filmmaker. Born in Jönköping in 1981, he began making short films as a teenager and later produced no-budget horror shorts online under the pseudonym ponysmasher.
His 2013 short Lights Out led to a 2016 feature adaptation of the same name, his directorial debut. He has since directed Annabelle: Creation (2017), Shazam! (2019), Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023) and Until Dawn (2025). Sandberg is married to actress and producer Lotta Losten, who has appeared in several of his short films.
