Biography
David Feige is an American lawyer, legal commentator, author and television writer and producer. He worked as a public defender in New York City for fifteen years, including as trial chief at The Bronx Defenders, before moving into screenwriting.
Feige is the author of the memoir Indefensible: One Lawyer's Journey into the Inferno of American Justice (2006) and co-creator, with Steven Bochco, of the TNT series Raising the Bar (2008–2009). He has written episodes of Drop Dead Diva (2009–2014), The Firm (2012), For Life (2020–2021) and Daredevil: Born Again (2025), on which he also served as co-executive producer.
In 2016 he wrote, produced and directed the documentary feature Untouchable, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and won the Albert Maysles New Documentary Director Award. He co-founded the charitable bail organisation The Bronx Freedom Fund with his wife, Robin Steinberg.
