Biography
David Fisher was a British television screenwriter. He wrote four serials for Doctor Who during the Fourth Doctor era: The Stones of Blood (1978), The Androids of Tara (1978), The Creature from the Pit (1979) and The Leisure Hive (1980). He also provided the original storyline for City of Death (1979), which was substantially reworked by Douglas Adams and Graham Williams and broadcast under the pseudonym David Agnew.
Fisher novelised The Creature from the Pit and The Leisure Hive for the Target Books range, and later adapted his other Doctor Who stories for audiobook releases. His other television credits include episodes of Dixon of Dock Green, Crown Court and Hammer House of Horror. In later years he collaborated with former Doctor Who script editor Anthony Read on several non-fiction books about the Second World War.
