Biography
David Harris was an American actor whose screen career spanned films and television from the mid-1970s until the 2010s. He trained at the High School of Performing Arts in New York City and made his screen debut in the 1976 television film Judge Horton and the Scottsboro Boys.
He is best known for playing Cochise in the 1979 cult film The Warriors. Other notable film roles include Duane Spivey in Brubaker (1980) and Private Smalls in A Soldier's Story (1984). On television he appeared in series including North and South (1985), MacGyver (1985), NYPD Blue (1993) as Officer Donny Simmons, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999). Harris died in New York City in 2024.
