Biography
David Hemingson is an American writer and producer for film and television. Born on 26 July 1964 in New Haven, Connecticut, he graduated from Yale University and Columbia Law School in 1990. He initially worked as an entertainment lawyer before moving into television writing and producing.
His television credits include writing for Just Shoot Me! (1997) and American Dad!, creating the series Whiskey Cavalier (2019), and adapting Kitchen Confidential for television. He also served as a producer on several series.
Hemingson wrote and produced the 2023 film The Holdovers, directed by Alexander Payne. The screenplay earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay.
