Biography
David Hempstead was an American film producer. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, he worked primarily at RKO Radio Pictures in the 1930s and 1940s, later moving to 20th Century-Fox.
He produced Kitty Foyle (1940), which received an Academy Award nomination for Outstanding Production. His other producing credits include Mr. Lucky (1943), None But the Lonely Heart (1944) and Portrait of Jennie (1948), on which he served as associate producer. He also wrote the story for Hell and High Water (1954).
