Biography
David Kelly was an Irish actor. He was born in Dublin on 11 July 1929 and died there on 12 February 2012. He trained at the Abbey School of Acting and began his career on the Irish stage in the late 1940s.
Kelly appeared regularly in film and television from the 1950s. He played O'Reilly in the Fawlty Towers episode 'The Builders' (1975), Albert Riddle in Robin's Nest, and Michael O'Sullivan in Waking Ned (1998). Later roles included Grandpa Joe in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) and a guard in Stardust (2007). He was married to actress Laurie Morton from 1961.
