Biography
David Rabinowitz is an American screenwriter and producer. He frequently collaborates with writing partner Charlie Wachtel, whom he met while attending Hebrew school in East Brunswick, New Jersey. The pair graduated from East Brunswick High School in 2005 and later from Quinnipiac University in 2009.
Rabinowitz and Wachtel wrote the screenplay for BlacKkKlansman (2018), directed by Spike Lee and based on Ron Stallworth’s memoir. They are credited as co-writers alongside Lee and Kevin Willmott, and as co-producers. The film received an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2019, which Rabinowitz shared. Earlier credits include short films such as Harmless (2012) and It’s Tough Out There (2013). He has also worked as a producer on various projects.
