Biography

David Sackeroff was an American production designer and art director whose television credits include early episodes of the sitcom Seinfeld (1989). He served as production designer on the pilot and five episodes of the first season.

Sackeroff worked extensively on other series, including as production designer on more than 200 episodes of Home Improvement (1991–1999) and as art director and production designer on ALF. He received a Primetime Emmy nomination in 1991 for art direction on the Carol Burnett series Carol & Company. His earlier career included theatre design work at the Williamstown Theatre Festival and Off-Broadway productions, following an interest in puppetry and spatial design that began in childhood.

Sackeroff died on 10 July 2026 on Bainbridge Island, Washington, aged 81.
