Biography
David Scinto is a British screenwriter and producer. He is best known for his collaborations with Louis Mellis on the screenplays for the films Gangster No. 1 (2000), Sexy Beast (2000) and 44 Inch Chest (2009).
Scinto and Mellis first worked together as actors before writing the stage play Gangster No. 1, which was produced at the Almeida Theatre. The pair adapted their work for the screen and later developed further projects together, including material that became Sexy Beast.
Scinto received a British Independent Film Award for Best Screenplay for Sexy Beast in 2001. He has also served as executive producer on film and television adaptations of the material, including the 2024 television series Sexy Beast.
