Biography
David Seidler was a British-American playwright and screenwriter. Born in London in 1937, he died on 16 March 2024 while fly-fishing in New Zealand.
He is best known for writing the screenplay for the 2010 film The King's Speech, for which he received the Academy Award and a BAFTA for Best Original Screenplay. The script drew on his own childhood experience of stuttering. His other screen credits include Tucker: The Man and His Dream (1988), Quest for Camelot (1998) and The King and I (1999).
