Biography
David Warrilow (28 December 1934 – 17 August 1995) was an English actor. Born in Stone, Staffordshire, he studied at the University of Reading before moving to Paris, where he edited the magazine Réalités for eleven years. In 1970 he co-founded the experimental theatre company Mabou Mines in New York. He became recognised for his performances in works by Samuel Beckett, including The Lost Ones (for which he received an Obie Award), A Piece of Monologue (written for him by Beckett), Ohio Impromptu, That Time and Krapp's Last Tape.
Warrilow also appeared in films, including Roger in Radio Days (1987), Rittenhouse in Bright Lights, Big City (1988) and Garland Stanford in Barton Fink (1991). He worked extensively with Paris-based director Joël Jouanneau from 1986 onwards and received the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et Lettres in 1990. He died in Paris aged 60.
