Biography
Dean Kent Brooks was an American physician and actor. He served as superintendent of Oregon State Hospital in Salem, Oregon, from 1955 to 1982. He graduated from the University of Kansas Medical School in 1942.
In 1975, Brooks granted permission for the filming of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest at the hospital and portrayed the character Dr. John Spivey in the film. He was credited on screen as Dean R. Brooks owing to his nickname 'Deaner'.
