Biography
Deborah Eisenberg is an American short story writer, actress and teacher. Born on 20 November 1945 in Winnetka, Illinois, she is a professor of writing at Columbia University.
She has published five collections of short stories, beginning with Transactions in a Foreign Currency (1986). Eisenberg wrote the screenplay for the 2020 film Let Them All Talk, directed by Steven Soderbergh; the production used her treatment as the basis for largely improvised dialogue. She has also written the play Pastorale (1982) and appeared in several films and television productions.
