Biography
Joseph Deems Taylor (22 December 1885 – 3 July 1966) was an American composer, music critic and radio commentator. Born in New York City, he composed operas including The King's Henchman (1927) and Peter Ibbetson (1929), both staged at the Metropolitan Opera, as well as orchestral works.
Taylor served as musical advisor on the Disney film Fantasia (1940) and appeared on screen as narrator for the narrative introductions. He also featured in the documentary Of Men and Music (1951) and the short There's Magic in Music (1941).
