Biography
Derek Frankowski is a Canadian cinematographer, director and producer. He began his career as a photographer specialising in action sports, particularly mountain biking, with his first published work appearing in 1998.
Frankowski directed the mountain biking documentary Life Cycles (2010), on which he also served as cinematographer and producer. His subsequent cinematography credits include the BBC series Planet Earth II (2016), for which he received a Primetime Emmy as part of the team, Grasslands: North America's Hidden Wilderness (2019) and episodes of The Nature of Things and Terra Mater.
