Biography
Dermott Downs is an American television director, cinematographer, actor and producer. Born on 25 May 1962 in Los Angeles County, California, he began his career as a child actor, appearing in films including Escape to Witch Mountain (1975) and Freaky Friday (1976).
He later worked as a cinematographer on series such as CSI: Miami and The Tomorrow People before moving into directing. His directing credits include multiple episodes of The Flash (2014–2017), Arrow (2012), Supergirl (2015), Gotham (2014), Criminal Minds (2005), Chucky (2021) and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022).
Downs has directed musical episodes of The Flash and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, the latter being the franchise's first musical instalment.
