Biography
DeWitt Bodeen was an American screenwriter and television writer. Born Homer DeWitt Bodeen on 25 July 1908 in Fresno, California, he began his career as a stage actor and playwright, writing more than twenty plays before entering the film industry in the late 1930s.
Bodeen worked at RKO Pictures, where his screenwriting credits included Cat People (1942), The Seventh Victim (1943), The Curse of the Cat People (1944), The Enchanted Cottage (1945), I Remember Mama (1948) and Billy Budd (1962). He also wrote for anthology television series in the 1950s. In later years he authored books on film history. He died on 12 March 1988 in Los Angeles, California.
