Biography

Diana Cilliers is a South African costume designer. She studied theatre design at the University of Pretoria and began her career working in theatre before transitioning to film. In 1985 she founded the Theatre and Film Costume Workshop in Johannesburg, which she relocated to Cape Town in 1992.

She has designed costumes for numerous films and television productions, including District 9 (2009), Chronicle (2012), Dredd (2012), The Giver (2014), Chappie (2015), Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013) and the series One Piece (2023). She received Primetime Emmy nominations for The Girl (2012) and Roots (2016), along with several SAFTA/Golden Horn awards and nominations.
