Biography
Diana Muldaur is an American actress. Born on 19 August 1938 in New York City, she graduated from Sweet Briar College in 1960 and studied acting under Stella Adler. She began her career on the New York stage in the early 1960s before moving into television and film.
Muldaur appeared in two episodes of the original Star Trek series in the late 1960s, playing Dr Ann Mulhall and Dr Miranda Jones. She later portrayed Dr Katherine Pulaski, chief medical officer of the USS Enterprise-D, in 20 episodes of the second season of Star Trek: The Next Generation (1988–1989). Other notable television roles include Chris Coughlin in McCloud (1970–1977) and Rosalind Shays in L.A. Law (1989–1991), for which she received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Muldaur served as the first woman president of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences from 1983 to 1985. She has also appeared in guest roles across numerous series including Murder, She Wrote, Hawaii Five-O and Kung Fu.
