Biography
Dick Clair, born Richard Jones, was an American television writer, producer and actor. He was born in San Francisco, California, on 12 November 1931 and died in Los Angeles on 12 December 1988.
Clair wrote episodes of The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970) and The Bob Newhart Show (1972). With his writing partner Jenna McMahon, he contributed to The Carol Burnett Show, for which he won three Emmy Awards for writing. They created and produced the sitcoms It's a Living, The Facts of Life and Mama's Family.
He also appeared as an actor in several television series, including a guest role in The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
