Biography

Dick Lowry is an American film and television director and producer. Born on 15 September 1944 in Oklahoma, he began directing in the mid-1970s and remained active until 2011.

He is known for numerous made-for-television films, including entries in the In the Line of Duty series for NBC, the disaster miniseries Category 6: Day of Destruction (2004) and Category 7: The End of the World (2005), and the Western Last Stand at Saber River (1997). His feature film credits include Smokey and the Bandit Part 3 (1983). Lowry also directed episodes of series such as NYPD Blue (2001), Crossing Jordan (2001) and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1979).

He is the brother of casting director Junie Lowry Johnson and producer Hunt Lowry.
