Biography
Dick Richards is an American film director, producer and screenwriter. After working as a photographer, he directed commercials before making his feature debut with The Culpepper Cattle Co. (1972), which he also wrote.
He directed Farewell, My Lovely (1975), March or Die (1977), Death Valley (1982), Man, Woman and Child (1983) and Heat (1986). Richards produced Tootsie (1982) with Sydney Pollack; the film received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture and won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture – Comedy.
