Biography
Diederik Hoogstraten is a screenwriter. Born in the Netherlands, he worked as an entertainment journalist in New York and Los Angeles before becoming a US citizen. He was a board member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, credited on the 2020 Golden Globe Awards television special.
Hoogstraten transitioned to screenwriting, studying at Pepperdine University. He co-wrote the 2026 film Young Washington with Tom Provost and Jon Erwin. The biographical drama, directed by Erwin and released by Angel Studios, follows the early life of George Washington.
