Biography

Dimiter D. Marinov is a Bulgarian-American actor and violinist. Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, on 6 October 1964, he trained as a classical violinist from childhood and later graduated with a master's degree from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts (NATFA) in Sofia.

He began acting in Bulgaria in the late 1970s before defecting to the United States in 1990. Marinov made his US screen debut as Kerimov in Act of Valor (2012). He is best known for playing Oleg in Green Book (2018), for which he became the first Bulgarian actor to appear on the Academy Awards red carpet; the film won the Oscar for Best Picture. His other credits include roles in Triple 9 (2016), The Little Things (2021) and television series such as Scorpion (2014) and For All Mankind.
