Biography
Dominic Cooke CBE is an English director and writer. Born in 1966 in Wimbledon, London, he studied at Warwick University and began his career in theatre, later serving as artistic director of the Royal Court Theatre from 2007 to 2013 and holding positions at the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre.
His feature film directorial debut was On Chesil Beach (2018), adapted by Ian McEwan from his own novella. He also directed The Courier (2020). On television, he directed episodes of The Hollow Crown (2012). Cooke was appointed CBE in 2014 for services to drama.
