Biography
Don Costello (born Eldon Lawrence Costello) was an American actor of stage, screen and radio. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on 5 September 1901, he began his career in theatre in the 1920s, working as a stage manager and actor with stock companies before appearing on Broadway.
Costello entered films in 1935 and signed with MGM in 1939. He appeared in more than 30 films, often in supporting roles as tough or menacing characters. Among his credits are Another Thin Man (1939), Johnny Eager (1941), Here Comes Mr. Jordan (1941) as Lefty, A-Haunting We Will Go (1942) and The Blue Dahlia (1946). He died in Hollywood, California, on 24 October 1945.
