Biography

Donald Lee Harris was an American production designer and art director. He began his career in the 1970s in the art department and later worked as an art director on feature films including Flesh Gordon (1974) and Can't Buy Me Love (1987). He received early production designer credits on television movies and series such as Eerie, Indiana (1991–1992, credited as Donald Light-Harris).

Harris served as production designer on the Fox sitcom Malcolm in the Middle (2000–2005) for 60 episodes. He designed the sets for the first season of the NBC series The Office (2005). From 2006 to 2015 he worked on more than 200 episodes of the ABC drama Grey's Anatomy, and from 2016 to 2021 he designed 103 episodes of the ABC comedy American Housewife.

Harris died on 1 November 2022 in Los Angeles, aged 78.
