Biography
Donald MacBride was an American character actor who worked on stage, in films and on television. He began his career as a teenage singer in vaudeville and appeared on Broadway, including in the original production of Room Service.
He appeared in nearly 140 films between 1914 and 1955. His roles included Inspector Williams in Here Comes Mr. Jordan (1941), Big Mac in High Sierra (1941), R.S. Kenyon in The Killers (1946) and Mr. Brady in The Seven Year Itch (1955). He was frequently cast as detectives and other authority figures.
MacBride also worked in early television, including a recurring role in the series My Friend Irma. He died in Los Angeles, California, on 21 June 1957.
