Biography
Donna Martell is an American actress born on 24 December 1927 in Los Angeles, California. She began her film career in 1947 with a role in the western Apache Rose and appeared in several films during the late 1940s and early 1950s, including Secret Beyond the Door (1947), Bud Abbott and Lou Costello Meet the Killer, Boris Karloff (1949) and The Egyptian (1954). She attended Los Angeles City College.
Martell is known for her work in westerns and on television, with appearances in series such as Bonanza (1959), Bat Masterson and Cheyenne. In 1955 she played Suchen, Suyin's sister, in Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing. Her acting career largely ended in 1963, though she returned briefly for a role in the 1983 television film Grace Kelly. In 2002 she received a Golden Boot Award for her contributions to the western genre.
