Biography
Donnelly Rhodes was a Canadian actor. He trained at the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre and was a member of the first graduating class of the National Theatre School of Canada. He made his professional stage debut as Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire and appeared at the Stratford Festival before moving into film and television.
Rhodes appeared as Macon in the 1969 film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. He was known in Canada for roles including Sgt. Nick Raitt in Sidestreet (1975–1978), Dr. Grant "Doc" Roberts in Danger Bay (1984–1990) and Det. Leo Shannon in Da Vinci's Inquest (1998–2005). In the United States he played Dutch Leitner in the sitcom Soap (1978–1981), Phillip Chancellor II in The Young and the Restless, and Dr. Sherman Cottle in Battlestar Galactica (2004–2009). He received a Gemini Award for his work on Da Vinci's Inquest and the Earle Grey Award for lifetime achievement in 2006. He was the brother of actor Tim Henry.
