Biography
Doreen Keogh was an Irish actress known for her work in television, film, stage and radio. She trained at the Abbey Theatre School in Dublin and began her career in the 1940s.
She played Concepta Riley (later Hewitt) in the soap opera Coronation Street from 1960 to 1975, appearing in over 300 episodes as the first barmaid at the Rovers Return. Later television roles included Mary Carroll in The Royle Family (1998–2006), appearances in Father Ted (1998) and Ballykissangel, and recurring parts in Cold Feet. Film credits include A Night to Remember (1958), Some Mother's Son (1996) and Breakfast on Pluto (2005).
Keogh died on 31 December 2017 in Thomastown, County Kilkenny.
