Biography
Dorotea Saykaly is a Canadian dancer and choreographer. Born in Montreal, she began her professional career in 2006 with Compagnie Marie Chouinard, touring internationally and performing lead roles. In 2014 she joined Göteborgs Operans Danskompani in Sweden.
She has appeared as a dancer in the short film Anima (2019), directed by Paul Thomas Anderson with choreography by Damien Jalet, and in Cyrano (2021), directed by Joe Wright with choreography by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Saykaly has also created and performed in her own screendance works, including She (2022) and Telos I (2024).
As a choreographer, she received the inaugural Emily Molnar Emerging Choreographer Award and has created works for companies including Ballet BC and Skånes Dansteater.
