Biography
Dorothée Guiraud is a French costume designer. Born in 1970, she trained in sewing techniques in Marseille before studying fashion styling in Paris in the early 1990s. She began working in film in 1992 on the short Tous les garçons and gained her first lead credit as costume designer on Noémie Lvovsky’s Petites (1997).
Guiraud has collaborated regularly with directors including the Podalydès brothers and Lvovsky. Her credits include The Blue Room (2014), The Freshmen (2018), Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019), Perfect Nanny (2019), The Night of the 12th (2022) and A Real Job (2023). She received César Award nominations for her work on Portrait of a Lady on Fire. Since 2012 she has also served as artistic director for the jewellery line Maison Violette.
