Biography

Dorothy Tree (born Dorothy Estelle Triebitz) was an American actress. She appeared in character roles in at least 49 films between 1927 and 1951, including uncredited parts as a bride of Dracula in both the English- and Spanish-language versions of Dracula (1931).

Among her credited roles were Gladys in Here Comes the Navy (1934), Martha Rockne in Knute Rockne, All American (1940) and May Emmerich in The Asphalt Jungle (1950). She also appeared in Marked Woman (1937) and The Men (1950). After being blacklisted following HUAC hearings, she worked as a voice teacher in New York and published books on diction and speech.

Tree was married to screenwriter Michael Uris from 1928 until his death in 1967.
