Biography
Doug Kraner was an American production designer and art director. He began his career as a set decorator on My Dinner with Andre (1981) and held an MFA in Scene Design from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
His film credits include production design on Sleeping with the Enemy (1991), for which he designed the beach house set, Uncle Buck (1989), Baby's Day Out (1994), I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998), Enough (2002) and Godsend (2004). He worked as art director on Working Girl (1988) and collaborated frequently with director John Hughes.
On television, Kraner served as production designer on series including Gotham (2014), for which he received a Primetime Emmy nomination, The Tomorrow People and Devious Maids. He was nominated for two Primetime Emmys in total and was honoured in the Oscars in Memoriam in 2017. He died on 4 April 2016.
