Biography
Doug Savant is an American actor. He is known for his roles as Matt Fielding in the Fox series Melrose Place (1992–97) and as Tom Scavo in the ABC series Desperate Housewives (2004–12).
Savant was born and raised in Burbank, California. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles, but left before graduating to pursue acting. His early film roles include appearances in Teen Wolf (1985) and Trick or Treat (1986). He later played Sergeant O'Neal in the 1998 film Godzilla.
In 1998, Savant married actress Laura Leighton, his co-star from Melrose Place. He has four children.
