Biography
Douglas Stewart was a Canadian-born film and television editor. He worked in Hollywood from the 1950s to the 1980s and held around sixteen feature film credits.
His credits include The Hitch-Hiker (1953), The Great Northfield Minnesota Raid (1972), The Shootist (1976), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), Rough Cut (1980) and The Right Stuff (1983). He collaborated repeatedly with directors Philip Kaufman and Don Siegel. Stewart shared the Academy Award for Best Film Editing for The Right Stuff. He received two Emmy nominations for his television work.
