Biography
Du Yuan, also credited as Yuan Du or 杜媛, is a Chinese film editor. She graduated from the Beijing Film Academy in 1978 and has worked primarily with Xi'an Film Studio.
She is known for her long collaboration with director Zhang Yimou, editing films including Red Sorghum (1988), Ju Dou (1990), Raise the Red Lantern (1991), The Story of Qiu Ju (1992), To Live (1994) and Shanghai Triad (1995). Later credits include Crazy Stone (2006), No Man's Land (2013), One Second (2020) and Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms (2023), for which she won the Golden Rooster Award for Best Editing.
