Biography
E. L. James is a British writer. Born Erika Mitchell on 7 March 1963 in London, she worked in television production for twenty-five years before beginning to write.
She is the author of the erotic romance trilogy Fifty Shades of Grey (2011), Fifty Shades Darker (2012) and Fifty Shades Freed (2012). The books were adapted into a film trilogy for which she served as producer; the first film, Fifty Shades of Grey, was released in 2015. She is married to the novelist and screenwriter Niall Leonard.
