Biography
Ebla Mari is a Syrian actress from the village of Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights. She began acting at the local Oyoun theatre and later studied at university in Haifa before working as a drama teacher at a middle school.
Her screen debut came in Ken Loach’s The Old Oak (2023), in which she played Yara, a Syrian refugee who forms a friendship with a local pub owner in a declining English mining community. The film premiered at Cannes.
