Biography
Ed Charles is a British director and producer specialising in natural history documentaries. He studied zoology at the University of Nottingham before completing a masters course in biological photographic and imaging at the same institution. He later worked as a cameraman in Bristol before progressing to producing and directing roles.
Charles directed an episode of the BBC series Planet Earth II (2016). He has also directed episodes of A Perfect Planet (2021) and Our Planet (2023), and served as producer on several of these and related projects including Our Planet (2019).
