Biography
Ed Jurist was an American television writer and producer. Born in New Jersey in 1916, he studied theatre at the University of Michigan. He began his career in the late 1940s, producing, directing and writing one of the earliest television sitcoms, The Aldrich Family.
Jurist wrote for numerous series over several decades. He contributed dozens of episodes to Bewitched between 1966 and 1972, and also wrote for MASH (1972), Diff'rent Strokes, One Day at a Time, The Love Boat and Small Wonder. He produced The Flying Nun* and served on the board of the Writers Guild of America health fund. He died in Los Angeles in 1993.
